Harlan remained unbeaten in fifth- and sixth-grade football action with a 14-8 win over visiting Perry Central in the middle of three games Saturday.
Kolbi Green teamed with Judah Shope for a 70-yard touchdown pass. Green scored on a 35-yard rushing touchdown. Rush Luttrell added the two-point conversion after Green’s run as Harlan improved to 8-0.
The Green Dragons fell 44-22 in the seventh- and eighth-grade game as Perry broke open a close game late in the first half.
The Commodores took an early 8-0 lead, but Harlan answered when Kolbi Green teamed with Isaiah Caudill for a 20-yard touchdown on a halfback pass. Ryder Lemar was stopped short on the two-point conversion.
Perry pushed the lead to 14-6 before the Dragons answered again on a 60-yard touchdown pass from Derrick Holman to Caudill. Holman went in for the tying two-point conversion.
The Commodores scored twice in the final four minutes of the half to go up 28-14 at the break and scored again in the third quarter for a 36-14 lead.
Rylan Rodriguez picked up a couple of first downs on the ground to set up Lemar’s 7-yard touchdown run with 2:37 left in the third quarter.
Perry added a touchdown in the fourth quarter to close the scoring.
Harlan fell to 3-5 with the loss.
Perry also won in a third- and fourth-grade game. No scoring information was submitted.
The Dragons close their regular season schedule Thursday at Pineville.
