The Harlan County Black Bears rolled to a 44-14 win Thursday at Clay County in seventh- and eighth-grade football action.
Caysen Farley scored four touchdowns to lead the 9-0 Bears, rushing for 61 yards on one carry while catching four passes for 116 yards. Trey Creech completed eight of 10 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns. Hudson Faulkner had 92 yards on five rushes with two catches for 44 yards. Brantley Burkhart had one catch for 30 yards and Blake Johnson added one for 14 yards.
Creech teamed with Farley for a 44-yard TD pass to start the scoring with Faulkner adding the two-point conversion.
Faulkner scored on a 36-yard run and Farley added the two-point conversion for a 16-0 lead.
Farley went in from the 44 on the Bears’ third drive, then Creech teamed with Burkhart for the two-point conversion.
Farley caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Creech on the fourth drive followed by a kick from Jacob Brock for a 31-0 halftime lead.
Clay and HC traded touchdowns in the second half with Faulkner catching a 24-yard pass from Creech followed by Brock’s kick after Clay’s first score. Farley had a 68-yard kickoff return after Clay’s second touchdown to close the scoring.
Both Harlan County teams (now 9-0) will play host to Perry Central on Saturday, starting at 5 p.m.
