Clay edges Harlan in 13th Region showdown

With four players in double figures, Clay County knocked off visiting Harlan 75-70 on Saturday afternoon in a showdown of 13th Region heavyweights.
Senior guards Connor Robinson and Connor Farmer scored 20 and 19 points, respectively, to lead the Tigers. Raven Abner followed with 18 points. Tate Farmer scored 11.
Junior guard Jordan Akal led the Dragons with 30 points. Kaleb McLendon added 21.
Harlan (10-3) returns to action Tuesday at Hazard. Clay County (9-4) plays at Bell County on Monday.

Clay County rolled to a 53-13 win in junior varsity action, led by 18 points from Tate Rice and 10 from Tyson Wagers.
Tristan Burgan led Harlan (0-6) with five points. Johann Gist scored three. Darius Akal and Derek Pruitt added two each. John Bryson scored one.
