Harlan scored five runs in the sixth inning but fell short in a 15-13 loss to Whitley County on Friday in middle school baseball action.
Landon Myers drove in three runs for the Dragons with two singles. Chris Rouse and Luke Luttrell added one single each.
Baylor Varner started on the mound for Harlan and struck out two in 2/3 of an inning. Eli Freyer struck out four in 2 1/3 innings. Brody Owens fanned one in 1 1/3 innings. Luttrell struck out four in 1 2/3 innings.
Harlan (0-1) will play host to Bell County on Thursday.
