New surface completed for HCHS track

Midwest Track Builders, of Chicago, recently completed an entire resurfacing project at Coal Miners Memorial Stadium on the campus of Harlan County High School. “A huge amount of credit goes to Mr. Brent Roark and the Harlan County Board of Education for approving a project of this magnitude,” said HCHS athletic director Eugene Farmer. “Although well-maintained, the track needed the resurfacing which provides a softer, more gentle surface for our student-athletes to compete on. This project was years in the making and when you think about track resurfacing nationwide, it really doesn’t get any more quality than Midwest Track Builders. I’m certainly pleased for both our student-athletes and coach Vitatoe, who always does a first-class job leading our track and field teams.”
