A look back at Week 8 in the SEC

Although it was a short week on the schedule, there still was some news and notes from the Alliance Killer.

So from the home office in Speedwell, Tennessee, here is the week that was and will be for week eight in the SEC.

Week Eight Wrap Up

Alabama 52, Tennessee 24-

Why Should I Care –  The Vols came out and punched the Tide in the mouth and had a lead for a while.  But as the game wore on, it was evident the Vols don’t have a lot of depth.  Alabama exposed them in the second half to pull away.

Ole Miss 31, LSU 17

Why Should I Care –  On Eli Manning Day in the Grove, the rebels held serve and beat the Tigers in the Ed Orgeron Finale Tour.  Ole Miss signal-caller Matt Corral had a good day coming off carrying his team to a win in an, um, hostile environment in Knoxville.

Texas A&M 44, South Carolina 14

Why Should I Care –  Texas A&M probably wishes they could reset the season and take the last three weeks back with them.  The Aggies are rolling.  The Gamecocks, however, are entering the toughest stretch of their season and probably will struggle the rest of the way.

Arkansas 45, Arkansas- Pine Bluff 3

Why Should I Care –  The Hogs needed a break after a tough schedule run.  I still think they are a good team and will finish the year strong.

Mississippi State 45, Vanderbilt 6

Why Should I Care –  The Dawgs tuned up for Kentucky with a workout against Vandy behind quarterback Will Rogers III 384 yards passing.  Did you know MSU coach Mike Leach’s favorite Halloween candy is the new Nerds clusters?  Fascinating.

Week Nine Predictions

Last week, the Backwoods Swami went 9-1 for the week with a blended Sun Belt schedule.  For the season, I am 72-10 (.878).  Again, there is a short schedule in the SEC with only four games, so let’s add SEC future members Texas, Oklahoma

And the Sun Belt again for fun and laughter.
