Dragons fall to Williamsburg in finals of conference tourney
Harlan captured second place in the All A Classic Tournament (seventh and eighth grade) on Saturday, defeating Lynn Camp 67-20 and Middlesboro 42-17 before falling 61-40 to Williamsburg.
Connor Daniels scored 12 points and Dylan Cox added 10 to lead the Dragons against Lynn Camp.
The Dragons were led by Trent Cole and Daniels with 11 points in the win over Middlesboro. Will Shepherd chipped in with 10 points.
Cole scored 14 to lead Harlan in the championship game loss.
Harlan fell 44-18 to Middlesboro in the opening round of the league fifth- and sixth-grade tournament, but no scoring information was available.
The 12-4 Dragons are scheduled to return to action Wednesday at Stinnett.

Trojans sweep Cumberland in regular-season opener
James A. Cawood opened its regular season schedule Monday at Cumberland with a 39-20 win over the Redskins in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Brennan Blevins paced a balanced JACHS attack with 13 points. Landon Brock and Kaden Jones added 12 points each.
Kaden Adams scored seven and Brayden Casolari added six to pace Cumberland.
Logan Smith scored 15 points while Easton Engle and Tyhler Coots added 10 each as the Trojans rolled to a 42-13 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Carson Clark led the Redskins with five points.

Kobe Sanders scored 17 points and Brenton Bargo added 12 as Evarts continued its hot start with a 33-12 win Monday at Arlie Boggs in fifth- and sixth-grade basketball action.
The Wildcats won 42-22 in seventh- and eighth-grade action as Aidan Reynolds led Evarts with 28 points.
Evarts will play host to Green Hills on Tuesday.

Cumberland swept a basketball doubleheader at Arlie Boggs on Saturday, winning 38-31 in the seventh- and eighth-grade game and 29-22 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Bo Eldridge scored nine and Braxton Bowen added eight to lead the Redskins in seventh- and eighth-grade action.
Hayden Grace poured in 10 points to lead Cumberland in fifth- and sixth-grade action.

Rosspoint wins tournament in Clay
Rosspoint won the championship of the Carnahan Christmas Classic (fifth and sixth grade) on Saturday in Clay County with a 43-41 overtime win over Paces Creek.
Rydge Lewis scored 16 and Trey Creech tossed in 13 to lead the Wildcats. Nathan Barger added 10. Hayston Hensley scored four.
Rosspoint fell 44-29 to Hacker. Creech scored 18 for the Wildcats, followed by Lewis with nine and Barger with two.
