McLendon scores 33 as Green Dragons rout Paris in Dan Cummins Classic

Junior guard Kaleb McLendon was honored as player of the game in Harlan’s win over Paris in the Dan Cummins Classic at Scott County High School on Saturday.

Playing their first game in a week, the Harlan Green Dragons placed four players in double figures to down Paris 85-68 on Saturday in the Dan Cummins Classic at Scott County High School.
Junior guard Kaleb McLendon hit eight 3-pointers and finished with 33 points to lead the 13-6 Green Dragons. Kyler McLendon added 16 points. Jordan Akal and Jaedyn Gist added 13 each.
Paris (4-12) was led by senior forward Kentarrion Downey with 14 points and sophomore guard Jakari Ransom with 12 points.
Kaleb McLendon hit three 3-pointers and Kyler McLendon added two as Harlan built a 19-12 lead after one quarter. The lead grew to 45-28 by halftime as Kaleb McLendon added three more 3s. Akal, Kyler McLendon and Gist added two baskets each.
Harlan scored 27 points in the third quarter, led by nine points from Kaleb McLendon, to extend its lead to 72-44 after three quarters.
Paris outscored the Dragons 24-13 in the fourth quarter.
Harlan will return to action Tuesday at Bell County for a girls/boys district doubleheader.
