Harlan County’s Maddox Huff was recently rated by Prep Hoops as the top point guard in the Class of 2025 and the 11th best player overall.

An explosive summer performance has pushed Harlan County guard Maddox Huff to a position among the elite players in Kentucky in the Class of 2025.
Prep Hoops recently listed Huff as the top point guard in Kentucky in the sophomore class and the 11th best player overall. He played against some of the nation’s top players on the AAU circuit last spring/summer with Griffin Elite, then finished the summer with the 16-under (rising juniors) team on the Under Armor circuit.
Huff was outstanding in high school summer competition, leading HCHS to a 16-6 mark overall with several 30-plus performances. He was the second leading scorer last season for the 19-11 Bears with 11.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
“I thought Maddox played really well this summer, along with the rest of our team,” Harlan County coach Kyle Jones said. “What has impressed me the most so far about Maddox is just how much time he puts in individually at improving his game. Individual work ethic cannot be taught — you either have it or you don’t. Maddox is also working hard at getting stronger in the weight room. I think his ranking for the Class of 2025 is only going to continue to rise.”
