Harlan splits two games in Morristown

Harlan split a pair of games Saturday in seventh- and eighth-grade action in the Lakeway Christian Academy Showcase in Morristown, Tenn., downing Newport, Tenn., 71-37 and falling 44-40 to The Kings Academy, Tenn.
Eric Evans scored 19, Luke Luttrell and Eli Freyer each tossed in 16 and Jaxson Perry added 15 in the win over Newport. Landon Myers and Caden Middleton scored two each.
Perry led the Dragons against TKA with 16 points. Luttrell and Freyer scored eight each. Evans and Myers added four each.


Perry leads Dragons to win over Barbourville

Jaxson Perry poured in 21 points as Harlan ran its record to 2-0 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action with a 63-52 win over visiting Barbourville on Tuesday.
Eric Evans and Luke Luttrell scored 12 points each for the Dragons, while Landon Myers added 10.
Mayo paced the Tigers with 19 points.
Barbourville won 48-15 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Eli Corey paced the Tigers with 24 points.
Cooper Thomas led the Dragons with seven points.
