Cornett leads Rosspoint to victory over Pirates

Cole Cornett poured in 23 points to lead Rosspoint to a 65-52 win over Fleming-Neon in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Friday.
Gunnar Johnson and Brayden Morris added 19 and 10 points, respectively, for the Wildcats.
Blake Johnson scored 11 points as Rosspoint coasted to a 39-12 win in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Rosspoint won 17-5 in fourth-grade action as Braxton Duncan scored five for the Wildcats.

Brock leads Trojans to win at Black Mountain

Landon Brock scored 15 points and Cooper Blevins added 12 as James A. Cawood rolled to a 60-21 win Friday at Black Mountain in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Shemar Carr led Black Mountain with eight points.
Andrew Vance scored 15 and Easton Engle added 13 as the Trojans won 45-10 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
JACES won 16-9 in a fourth-grade game as Seth Johnson led the Trojans with six points.

Camden Middleton scored 13 and Kayden Adams chipped in with 12 to lead the Redskins.
Ryan Housley scored 16 and Shawn Smith added 10 as the Comets edged Cumberland 33-32 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.
Bryce Saylor paced the Redskins with 17 points.

Ethan Huff led the Falcons with six points.
Rosspoint won 31-19 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Nathan Barger and Trey Creech each scored six to lead Rosspoint.
Billy Harrison scored 16 for Green Hills.

Dragons fall to Coeburn in doubleheader

Harlan fell 40-33 to visiting Coeburn, Va., on Monday in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Luke Luttrell led the Dragons with nine points.
The Dragons dropped a 33-30 decision in fifth- and sixth-grade action despite an 18-point performance from Cooper Thomas.
Harlan will travel to Coeburn on Thursday in a rematch doubleheader.
