Karst scores 25 as Lady Bears win fourth straight

Harlan County extended its win streak to four with a 59-43 victory Friday at Leslie County against one of the 14th Region’s top teams.
Junior guard Ella Karst scored 25 points to lead the 5-1 Lady Bears. Jaylin Smith and Taytum Griffin added nine points each, while Hailey Austin added eight.
Courtney Hoskins scored 21 points to Leslie County. Emma Napier added 13.
The Lady Bears will return to action Tuesday at home in a district doubleheader against visiting Bell County. Leslie County (2-1) will travel to Harlan on Tuesday.

Leslie County posted a 35-25 win in the junior varsity game.
Bailey Smith powered Leslie with 15 points. Kylee Lewis scored 10. Hayley Smith tossed in four. Natalie Banks, Sarah Osborne and Kaylee Wooton each added two.
Cheyenne Rhymer led the Lady Bears with nine points. Whitney Noe scored six.
