John Henson has covered sports since 1985 for the Harlan Daily Enterprise, the Cats Pause and harlancountysports.com, winning numerous Kentucky Press Association awards during that time. He also served as managing editor for 15 years and now teaches writing at Harlan County High School as part of the Gear Up program.

The Black Bears Football Camp was held on Saturday at Coal Miners Memorial Stadium and drew participants from across the county, including current members of the Harlan County High School football team. New HCHS football coach Amos McCreary led the camp, along with several members of his coaching staff. Campers were instructed on some of the basic fundamentals of football and participated in drills and games.
