
BENHAM — The Tri City All Stars put up quite a fight against Hazard/Perry on Friday in the District 4 Tournament East (ages 11-12) as trailed 4-3 going into the sixth and final inning before a six-run inning helped Hazard/Perry cruise to a 10-4 win.
Hutton Sherman led the Tri City offense with two singles. Detan Hall and Matt McLain added singles. Brennan Brock, Adam McLain, Truett Baldwin and Javonte Stewart added one single each.
Baldwin kept Tri City close as he gave up four runs on four hits in four-plus innings with two strikeouts and two walks. Brock allowed one run on one hit in one-plus inning. Sherman gave up five runs in the sixth inning. Tyson Surber gave up one hit and struck out three in one inning.
Tri City will play Knox County on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the losers bracket with the winner staying alive for a berth in the district final four.
