
The Harlan County Lady Bears closed a strong summer with a record of 18-3 after defeating Perry Central and Letcher Central on Thursday in a team camp at Harlan High School.
“We had a wonderful summer,” Harlan County coach Gary Greer said. “We played a lot of good competition and games. The girls worked extremely hard . I’m proud of them. We just want to improve 1 percent every day. And I think we are on the right path.”
Taylynn Napier scored 12 points and Jaycee Simpson added 10 in the 52-18 win over Perry. Reagan Clem and Raegan Lande tossed in six each. Crissalyn Jones, Jocelyn Miracle and Andrea Napier scored four each. Kenadee Sturgill, Shasta Brackett and Natalie Moore added two each.
Simpson scored 14 and Napier tossed in 12 in a 48-35 win over Letcher Central. Brackett tossed in eight, and Clem added seven. Landa scored five, and Sturgill tossed in two.
