Back home where he set records as a prep basketball star, University of Kentucky junior Trent Noah was greeted by an enthusiastic group of youngsters on Tuesday for the Trent Noah Basketball ProCamp at Harlan County High School.
The camp featured 200 participants split over two sessions.
“It’s super cool to come back in the town I grew up in and be able to give back and put on a camp…Being able to come back, try to teach the kids a thing or two, and let them teach me a thing or two, because we have some good players coming up in this area. It’s all cool. It’s a blessing. This is one of my favorite days of the year,” Noah told WYMT.
ARH sponsored the camp once again.
“Well, these kids are our kids,” said Harlan ARH Hospital CEO Joe Norton. “They’re our families, sons and daughters of our employees and our patients, so I’m just super happy to be able to do what we do. I’m proud to be a part of an organization that does it.”
A five-year starter with the Bears, Noah set a county record with 3,707 points, earning all-state honors twice. He led the Bears to a 13th Region championship as a senior in 2024 and then put together a memorable Sweet Sixteen performance with 48 points in a quarterfinal victory over Campbell County that ranked fourth in state tournament history. The Bears advanced all the way to the state finals as Noah set a state tournament record with 19 3-pointers over four games.
