HARLAN —The Corbin Lady Redhounds went on the road Monday and picked up a 65-48 win over Harlan, improving to 13-10 during the process.
Aubree Clemens led the way with 19 points while Lynlee Pietrowski scored 10.
“Good team win tonight,” coach Isaac Wilson told the 13th Region Media Network. “Our bench brought the energy we needed to pull out the win. Thats what I’m most proud of tonight.
“Our starters didn’t have their best tonight and our bench players were ready when their numbers were called,” he added. “We talk about that everyday and it was nice to see them prepared for the moment. We will need that type of mentality for the rest of this season to ensure we get the best team we possibly can have night in and night out.”
Cheyenne Rhymer scored 18 points and Addison Campbell added 14 for the 7-18 Lady Dragons.
Clemens scored 10 points in the first quarter as Corbin took a 23-11 lead into the second period
Both teams exchanged baskets most of the second quarter. Campbell scored eight points and Harlan closed the half with a 7-2 run, but the Lady Hounds led 31-23 at halftime.
Corbin used an 8-4 spurt to take a 12-point advantage.
The Lady Hounds maintained a 45-33 lead heading into the final period.
Pietrowski poured in eight points and Ashton Creech added six as Corbin outscored the Lady Dragons 20-15 in the fourth quarter.
Rhymer had six points and Addy Cochran scored four in the last period.
The Lady Redhounds took advantage of Harlan’s 19 turnovers. Corbin committed eight as a team.
