One of the 13th Region’s top players, Harlan County’s Ella Karst is off to a hot start this season and is a big reason why the Lady Bears are off to a 5-1 start. Karst was in double figures in Harlan County’s four straight wins, earning Kellie Wilson Law Office Player of the Week honors. Karst scored 11 points on Saturday in the Lady Bears’ 63-33 rout at Clay County, then scored 16 on Monday in a 66-39 victory over Barbourville and followed a day later with 22 points in a 63-42 victory over Whitley County. Karst capped the week by scoring 25 points Friday in a 59-43 upset victory at Leslie County.
