Dragons earn third win against Sweet 16 team from last year with victory over Ashland

Harlan improved its record to 8-0 with an 80-63 win over Ashland Blazer on Tuesday in the first round of the Pikeville Invitational, continuing what is almost certainly the best start for the Green Dragons since the 1990s.
Junior guard Kyler McLendon scored 31 points to lead the Dragons. Jaedyn Gist added 22 points and nine rebounds as he hit 11 of 16 shots. Kaleb McLendon chipped in with 17 points and eight rebounds. Will Austin chipped in with eight points and 11 rebounds. Dylan Cox had two points.
