Dragons hit 17 3s on the way to tournament win over Bath

Harlan guard Kaleb McLendon, pictured in action earlier this season, scored 26 points on Friday in the Green Dragons’ win over Bath County.

Harlan bounced back from a loss to Frederick Douglass on Thursday in the semifinals of the Dan Swartz Classic at Bath County High School to knock off the host team in the third-place game Friday.
The 11-2 Green Dragons hit 17 3-pointers in a 96-77 win. Kaleb McLendon hit 10 of 14 shots, including six 3-pointers, to finish with 26 points. Eighth-grader Trenton Cole hit seven of eight treys to finish with 21 points, Kyler McLendon added 18 points and seven assists,
Harlan finished the game shooting 37-of-64 from the floor, which included a 17-of-34 shooting effort from 3-point range. The Green Dragons finished with 30 assists and nine turnovers while totaling six steals.
Zachary Otis led Bath County with 34 points.
Harlan lost 62-54 to Frederick Douglass on Thursday. Jaedyn Gist scored 18 and Kaleb McLendon added 14 to lead the Dragons. Will Austin chipped in with 10 points.
