HC Elite wins twice in opening tournament

Harlan County Elite, a team featuring several of the county’s top sixth-graders, made an impressive debut with two wins Saturday at London.
Jaycee Simpson and Vanessa Griffith scored eight each to lead HC Elite in a 27-22 victory over Clay County.
Griffith scored 14 and Aiselyn Sexton added nine as HC Elite routed Richmond Heat 53-10.
