Dragons defeat Knott Central after slow start

Harlan guard Kyler McLendon, who put up a shot earlier in the week at Harlan County, scored 25 points on Wednesday as the Green Dragons won 70-59 at Knott Central.

Playing the second of a three-day, three-game stretch, the Harlan Green Dragons pulled away in the second half for a 70-59 win Wednesday at Knott Central.
Junior guard Kyler McLendon scored 25 points to lead the 22-5 Dragons. Senior forwards Jaedyn Gist and Will Austin added 13 and 10 points, respectively. Harlan played without senior guard Kaleb McLendon.
Junior guard Hunter Haddix led the 9-15 Patriots with 15 points. Raiden Richardson and Nick Ratliff added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Harlan plays host to Knox Central on Thursday on Senior Night. The Dragons close their regular-season schedule Saturday at South Laurel.

Joe Honeycutt scored 18 points and Michael Gibson added 15 as Knott Central won 60-52 in junior varsity action. Gavin Mosley chipped in with 12, followed by Braden Yonts with eight, Jaden Hall with five and Talan Osborne with two.
Connor Daniels scored 14 to lead the 1-5 Dragons. Nate Montanaro added 14, followed by Dylan Cox with 10, Hunter Clem with eight and Jacob Clark and Eric Evans with two each.
