Harlan’s Donovan Montanaro rounded second base on the way to one of his two inside-the-park homers on Thursday in the Green Dragons’ 19-0 win over visiting Cordia.

Harlan sent 19 batters to the plate in a 15-run first inning on the way to a 19-0 rout of visiting Cordia on Thursday.
The Dragons collected 19 hits in the three-inning game, led by Donovan Montanaro with two inside-the-park homers and Jaedyn Gist with one. Baylor Varner had a triple, and Eli Freyer added a double. Freyer, Brody Owens and Jake Brewer had two hits each. Matthew Nunez, Ethan Farley and Luke Luttrell added one hit each.
Freyer, Brewer and Cameren Maples each pitched one inning with Freyer and Maples striking out three each and Brewer fanning two. The Dragons allowed only one base runner on an error in the first inning.
“It’s always good to get a win. It’s good to get all your players some valuable live game reps,” Harlan coach Lee Freyer said. “We have to continue working hard and get ready for district next week. Our pitchers were very efficient on the mound tonight. All three guys threw well. Good to see eight strikeouts and no walks handed out. We made some pretty decent contact tonight. It’s good to see the guys barrel up some pitches.”
The 5-4 Green Dragons travel to Somerset Christian School for a doubleheader on Saturday before opening their district schedule Monday at home against Middlesboro.
