Lady Dragons defeat Cumberland

Adelynn Burgan and Jordyn Smith teamed on a three-hitter as Harlan defeated Cumberland 9-3 in middle school softball action on Monday.
Burgan struck out four, walked two and allowed two hits in two innings. Smith struck out six and gave up one hit in three innings.
Smith also led Harlan at the plate with a double and single. Burgan singled twice. Emilee Shaw had a double. Gracie Hensley, Bella Miniard and Shaedyn Crow added singles.
No information was available on Cumberland.

Fields leads Lady Bears to win over Harlan

Maddy Fields pitched a six-hitter with five strikeouts and one walk as Harlan County edged Harlan 5-4 in middle school softball action Tuesday.
Fields also led Harlan County on offense with a triple and double. Raegan Landa added a triple. Jaylin Robinson had a single.
Breslyn Harmon led the Lady Dragons with a double. Hensley, Smith, Burgan, Shaw and Crow added one single each.
Burgan struck out eight and walked two.
The 12-1 Lady Bears play Cumberland on Thursday at HCHS. Harlan (5-4) plays a doubleheader at Lynn Camp on Thursday.

Black Bears defeat Harlan

Harlan County improved to 8-2 in middle school baseball action with an 11-2 win Tuesday at Harlan.
Colby Shepherd had two singles to lead the Bears. Jesse Gilbert, Grant Shelton, Andrew Vance and Hunter Coker added one single each.
Andrew Vance struck out three and walked six as he pitched 3 1/3 innings. Gilbert struck out 10 and walked two as he pitched the final 2 2/3 innings.
