Harlan County coach Shelby Burton talked to Hailey Austin and Madison Blair during a game earlier this season. Austin had three hits Friday and Blair pitched a complete game as the Lady Bears edged Whitley County 11-9.

Harlan County closed its regular-season schedule Friday with an 11-9 win at Whitley County.
Hailey Austin led the 16-14 Lady Bears with three singles and two walks. Jenna Wilson added a double and single. Halle Raleigh drove in three runs with two singles. Jade Burton singled twice. Rylie Maggard added one single.
Madison Blair pitched a complete game, scattering 10 hits while giving up nine runs (six earned) and one walk with four strikeouts.
Harlan County will play Middlesboro on Monday at Bell County in the first round of the 52nd District Tournament.

Harlan closed its regular-season schedule by falling 13-5, 8-7 in a doubleheader Thursday against visiting Lynn Camp.
Ella Farley led the Lady Dragons in the opening game with three singles and two RBI. Addison Jackson drove in two runs with two doubles. Ava Nunez, Amy Roman, Gracie Hensley and Abbi Fields added one single each.
Mallory McNiel gave up 13 runs (11 earned) on 15 hits with three strikeouts and six walks.
Nunez led Harlan in the nightcap with three RBI on a double and two singles. Ella Lisenbee added three singles. Farley had a triple and scored twice. Jackson, McNiel, Fields and Roman added one single each.
Lisenbee started in the circles and gave up eight runs (one earned) on three hits with two strikeouts and seven walks. Roman gave up four hits while striking out one.
The 5-19 Lady Dragons play Bell County on Monday at 5:30 in the 52nd District Tournament at Bell County.
