Pace Towing’s Hunter Stevens waited for his pitch on Monday in the opening game of Harlan Little League action for the 2020 season.

The Harlan Little League softball season opened Monday with a game that ended in walkoff fashion as Brackett’s Repair edged HLT 13-12 when Raegan Landa drove home Jaycee Simpson with a single.
Landa led Brackett’s with an inside-the-park homer, along with a double and two singles. Kendall Brock also had an inside-the-park homer. Simpson, Kelsie Middleton and Emily Grey added one single each.
Reagan Dunson led HLT with a double and single.
Pace Towing edged Saylor’s Auto Sales 10-9 in minor league baseball action.

Brackett’s Repair coach Johnny Simpson helped his daughter, Jaycee, get ready for the opening day of play in the Harlan Little League on Monday at Huff Park. Simpson scored the winning run in a 13-12 victory.

 

Saylor’s Auto coach Morgan Lee talked with Pace Towing’s Nathaniel Thomas during a break in game action Monday. Social distancing and health guidelines were followed by fans, players and coaches as four games were played to mark the opening day of the Harlan Little League.
