The Harlan Dragons traveled to Wilmore on Saturday to compete in the West Jessamine Colt Invitational.
“We were able to take a few of our runners to compete on Saturday. We have the goal this season to provide our runners with the opportunities to experience some new courses and different competition than we have in previous seasons,” Harlan cross country coach Anne Lindsey said. “All of our runners ran really well. Most of them had their best race of the season this far.”
Harper Carmical paced the Lady Dragons in the girls varsity race, finishing 35th with a time of 22:48.80. Chloe Schwenke placed 38th with a time of 23:00.30, while Abbigaile Jones (25:01.70) was 67th. Gwendolyn Toll (144th) finished with a time of 30:41.20.

“We chose to run some of our fifth and sixth grade runners up in the middle school division, and they rose to the challenge posting some impressive times for their first races at this longer distance,” Lindsey said.
In the boys 800-meter run, Mason Raleigh finished fourth with a time of 3:24.80.
Harlan will return to action Friday and Saturday for the Capitol View Classic at Frankfort.
