LONDON — The stage is set.
Roger Taylor’s Corbin Redhounds will be defending their 13th Region crown Monday at 6 p.m. against rival North Laurel in the 13th Region Tournament championship.
The Redhounds and North Laurel have met twice this season with both teams winning a game apiece.
Corbin defeated the Jaguars, 1-0, on Sept. 14 while North Laurel returned the favor in this past week’s 49th District title game, winning, 4-0.
Corbin took care of business on Saturday during semifinal action, handing Harlan County a 10-0 loss.
“Good performance from the team today,” Taylor said. “We were able to work on some things to help prepare for the championship Monday. It was a strange game with five penalty kicks but congrats to all five players who put their chance away. We had some excellent team goals through JP (Carmichael) and Rizzo (Cima) as well. We are ready to defend our region crown on Monday.”
The Redhounds led 4-0 at halftime, and never looked back, cruising to the 10-goal win.
Rizzo Cima recorded a hat trick in the win, scoring three goals while JP Carmichael added two goals. Logan Wise, John Ball, Parker Stacy, Blake Butler, and Braydon Van each scored a goal apiece.
Harlan County, champions of the 50th District, ended the season with a record of 8-8.

North Laurel didn’t waste any time moving into Monday’s 13th Region title game.
The Jaguars made quick work of Barbourville during Saturday’s 13th Region tournament semifinals and cruised to a 12-0 victory.
“We started the game with 10 men as Barbourville only had 10 men for the game,” North Laurel coach David Broyles said. “Today’s game went about how I thought it would. The starters got some time in, but we were able to get everyone in for this morning’s game.
“Now we have to refocus on the bigger picture which is going for the region title Monday,” he added. “Barbourville shouldn’t hang their heads, they are a growing program and I wish all the best as they continue to improve and grow their program.”
North Laurel will play the winner of Corbin and Harlan County in the region title game on Monday at 6 p.m.
Jaxon Jacobs scored the Jaguars’ first goal just minutes into the contest, and North Laurel continued to find the back of the net.
Tanner Broyles, Eli Davis, and Seth Miller scored two goals apiece for the Jaguars while Jacobs, Grant Abner, Cooper Getz, Noah Caldwell, Gavin Martin, and Louis Ocampo each scored a goal apiece.
Abner, and Gabe Steely each led the way with two assists while Noah Caldwell, Reilly Stuber, Martin, Jordan McIntyre, and JJ Edwards each finished with one assists apiece.
