The Harlan County Lady Bears jumped out to a lead in all three sets Tuesday at Whitley County but couldn’t hold off the 13th Region’s top team in a 25-14, 25-19, 25-20 loss.

HCHS won 25-21, 25-12, 25-9 on Monday at Barbourville.
Kylee Hoiska led Harlan County with 19 kills, eight digs, two aces, two assists and one block. Kalista Dunn had 12 kills, seven digs and three aces. Savannah Hill added 36 assists, eight digs, two aces and three kills. Ashlynn Williamson had 14 digs, four assists, one ace and one kill. Madi Nolan added five kills, three aces and three digs. Karli Shoupe contributed five digs, two aces and one assist. Abigail Blackburn added four kills and one dig. Aly Sherman had one dig.
Harlan County defeated Model 25-11, 25-12 and lost to Breathitt County 25-19, 19-25, 25-20 on Saturday in Jackson.
Hill had 24 assists, three digs, one kill and one ace against Model. Hoiska added 10 kills, four assists, one block and one ace. Blackburn had eight kills, one ace and one dig. Dunn had six kills, two assists, two digs and one ace. Nolan added four aces, four kills and two digs.
Hoiska led in digs against Breathitt with 17, followed by Williamson with 13 and Dunn with 10. Hill led in assists with 19. Hoiska had 11 kills, followed by Nolan with six and Dunn with three. Hoiska had all four of the team’s blocks and three of five aces.
The 8-6 Lady Bears travels to Knott Central on Thursday.
