The Harlan girls cross country team put the finishing touches on the season Saturday with a 23rd-place finish in the Class A state championship meet in Lexington.
Beechwood won the Class A meet for the girls. Lexington Christian was second, while St. Henry placed third.
“Today was a great experience for our runners,” Harlan coach Anne Lindsey said. “Running in the state meet is a demonstration of the hard work and dedication they’ve put in all season.“
Harper Carmical placed 111th with a time of 24:37.21 to lead the girls. Chloe Schwenke finished 117th with a time of 24:50.13. Abbigaile Jones (121st) finished with a time of 25:03.22. Ella Farley (26:25.69) was 165th, while Juliana Damaa placed 178th with a time of 27:08.69. Ella Lisenbee (30:28.35) and Gwendolyn Toll (31:14.05) were 213th and 218th, respectively.
In the boys race, Noah Sharp finished 187th with a time of 21:38.10.
“We are so proud of all for their performances today, and we are ending the cross country season with some big goals for next year,” Lindsey said.
