Trailing by three at halftime, Leslie County outscored visiting Harlan 23-8 in the third quarter on the way to a 70-52 win Tuesday over the Lady Dragons.
Junior guard Emily Roark scored 21 points to lead the 2-2 Lady Eagles. Senior guards Iris Napier and Eden Melton added 20 and 15 points, respectively.
Junior forward Kylie Noe scored 20 points and junior guard Aymanni Wynn added 15 for the Lady Dragons.
Noe scored nine points in the first quarter as Harlan battled to a 13-12 lead. The Lady Dragons’ advantage grew to 32-29 by halftime as Noe and Wynn teamed for 14 of 19 points.
Roark scored nine points and Melton added six as Leslie took the momentum in the third quarter. Roark and Melton each scored five in the fourth quarter as the Lady Eagles outscored Harlan 18-12.
Harlan (0-2) returns to action Thursday at Letcher Central. Leslie County plays host to Hazard on Saturday.

Leslie County rolled to a 37-15 win in junior varsity action as Hayley Smith scored 16 to lead the Lady Eagles.
Shelby Doan led Harlan with four points and was followed by Peyshaunce Wynn with three. Addison Campbell, Gracie Hensley and Annie Hoskins added two each. Reagan Goodman and Keauna Shepherd added one each.
