Harlan County basketball players received an enthusiastic sendoff to the state tournament on Tuesday as they walked along the track at the HCHS gym before leaving for Lexington.
Harlan County coaches Kyle Jones, Gary Greer and Cameron Carmical participated in the sendoff for the basketball team at the HCHS gym on Tuesday. The Black Bears will play Warren Central at 11 a.m. on Thursday. (John Henson)

North Laurel forward Reece Davidson scored 36 points in a win over Breathitt County and 41 points in a loss to Montgomery County and last week's state tournament. Davidson and the Jaguars will enter the 2025-2026 season as the preseason favorite.
