Harlan scored eight runs in the opening inning and rolled into the finals of the 13th Region All “A” Classic with an 11-7 win over Middlesboro on Thursday at Lincoln Memorial University.
Jordyn Smith had a big night at the plate with a triple, double and two singles in addition to pitching three shutout innings in relief to earn a save. Abbi Fields and Rhileigh Estes each pounded out three singles. Addison Jackson had a triple and double while Amy Roman added a triple and single. Ella Farley singled twice. Gracie Hensley, Ava Nunez and Ella Lisenbee added one single each.
Mallory McNiel earned the win in the circle with two strikeouts and four walks while allowing seven runs on seven hits four innings.
No statistics were available for Middlesboro.
Jackson County will play Harlan in the finals after edging Pineville 9-6 in eight innings in the first semifinal.
Ella Sallee and Blakleyn Fee led the Lady Generals with three hits each. Baylee Berry added two hits.
Candice Williams pitched a complete game, giving up six runs (two earned) on five hits over nine innings with 20 strikeouts and no walks.

Harlan senior Mallory McNiel earned the win as the Lady Dragons advanced to the 13th Region All “A” Classic finals Thursday with an 11-7 win over Middlesboro.
