Two teams coming off their first regional All “A” Classic titles in baseball met Sunday in Campton as Wolfe County earned a trip to the state tournament with a 10-5 win over Harlan.
Max Whisman, Chance Fallen and Jayden Molands, all sophomores, led the 11-4 Wolves with two hits each. Whisman gave up three runs in 5 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win on the mound.
Aiden Johnson led the 10-6 Dragons with two hits. Brody Owens, Eli Freyer, Luke Luttrell, Chris Rouse and Jake Brewer had one single each.
Luttrell suffered the loss, giving up six runs (three earned) on four hits in three innings, with one strikeout and one walk. Jared Moore allowed four runs on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks in three innings.
Harlan travels to Middlesboro on Monday and plays host to the Jackets on Tuesday.
