Harlan County won for the fourth time in five games in an 8-5 victory Friday over visiting Whitley County.
Junior catcher Jade Burton drove in three runs with a homer and single to lead the 9-17 Lady Bears. Jenna Wilson added a double and single. Halanah Shepherd singled twice. Brittleigh Estep and Lesleigh Brown contributed one single each.
Alexis Adams gave up only one earned run on five hits with 11 strikeouts and three walks.
Harlan County will be at home on Monday against Pineville and on Tuesday against Bell County. A win over the Lady Cats would clinch the top seed in the 52nd District Tournament for HCHS.
