Two days after losing at Harlan, the Letcher Central Cougars bounced back in the rematch Friday at home as junior Quinton Williams pitched a no-hitter in the Cougars’ 7-0 win in Whitesburg.
Williams struck out 13 and walked four as he faced only 24 batters in a complete game.
Kaleb Slone led the Letcher offense with three singles. Williams added a triple and single and scored two runs.
Brody Owens, Jared Moore, Luke Luttrell, Eli Freyer and Aiden Johnson all saw action on the mound.
The 20-11 Dragons play Harlan County on Monday at Bell County in the first round of the 52nd District Tournament.
