Quotes from coach Dakota Owens:
“I’m excited to see how this group of kids do at state. They have been improving tremendously each meet and there will be a great amount of competition to push themselves to better improve their times.”
“I can’t wait to see how our relays do during the championship meet. We have been practicing timing on the handoffs and getting a lot of speed work in. This group has the ability to come out and be a top-five team.”
“I am hoping to see a drastic change in performances this meet due to athletes being able to focus on just one or two events.”
“Kyler and Darius have had a phenomenal season competing back and forth in the 100-meter dash. I know they are excited to be able to see who comes up with the faster time at the end of the season between the two of them.”
“Nate and Tayquan have both steadily improved in the hurdles this season and they are getting their timing down and I am excited to see how they end up placing at the end of the meet.”
“Tanner and Izack just finished with spectacular performances in the middle school state championship, leaving Tanner with a runner-up medal in the 1,600, state champion medal in the 800 meters and Izack with a runner-up medal in the high jump.
These kids are ready to get back after it as they love competing.”
“These guys have been an amazing group to work with this season, and I can’t wait to see how their hard work places them within their competition.”
