
The Tri-City All Stars (ages 7-8) pounded out 25 hits to defeat Middlesboro-Pineville-Bell 20-4 in four innings during the opening round of tournament play at Perry County Park.
Rhett Fields led the offense with two inside-the-park homers and a single for seven RBIs. Xavier Clark had two singles and a triple. Luke Creech and Hayden Blair added three singles each. Gage Polson contributed a double and a single. Tate Sherman, Addison Lee, Levi Sergent and Caleb Creech had two singles apiece. Myles Hughes had an inside-the-park grand slam. London Blanton and Grayson Lewis each added a single.
Tri-City will move on to play Knox County on Tuesday at 7. Middlesboro-Pineville-Bell will face Leslie County in an elimination game at 8:30.

Harlan (ages 7-8) fell 15-7 to Jackson County in an opening-round game Monday.
Braxton Capps led Harlan with a triple, double and single. Trey Wynn had an inside-the-park homer and triple. Ben Parsons added a triple and single. Emmettt Alred added a double and single. Noah Blackwelder had an inside-the-park homer. Rylan Jenkins contributed a single.
Harlan returns to action Saturday.

Knox County outscored Tri City 7-1 in the final two innings to claim a 17-9 victory in the second round of the coach pitch All Star tournament in Hazard.
Addison Lee paced the Tri-City offense with two singles and a double. Rhett Fields had an inside-the-park homer and a single. Luke Creech, Gage Polson and Hayden Blair each had two singles. Tate Sherman contributed a double. Levi Sergent, Xavier Clark, Caleb Creech, Grayson Lewis and Miles Hughes had singles. Sherman, Sergent and London Blanton had two RBIs apiece.
Both teams move on to play Saturday. Tri City will face Clay County at 10 a.m. in an elimination game. Knox County, the two-time defending tournament champions, will face Corbin in the winners bracket at 1.
