Coming off a very strong showing at Tusculum, the Pineville Mountain Lions returned back to familiar territory with a pair of games at Knox Central on Friday.
In their first game of the day, the Lions overcame a slow start to defeat Oneida Baptist 70-68 in overtime.
The Lions featured a balanced attack with their senior class leading the way. Sawyer Thompson led the team with 20 points followed by Ashton Moser with 17. Cam Puckett had 15 while Preston Zachery and Dylan Abner added eight each. Kaiden Robbins scored two.
The Lions led throughout their second game with Harlan and won 61-40.
Pineville got 20 points from Thompson and 12 from Puckett. Moser scored 11 points. Zachery had 10, Abner six, and Daughson Whitehead two.
The 12-1 Lions continue their summer run Monday at home against Cumberland Gap, Tenn.

Harlan fell 72-44 to Knox Central in the final scrimmage of the evening. Knox Central downed Harlan 63-41 in junior varsity action.
