The Harlan County High School golf team opened its season with an impressive showing at the Farmers and Miners Bank Invitational at the Cedar Hill Country Club in Jonesville, Va. The Bears finished with a team score of 304 to place second.
Brayden Casolari, a junior, led the Bears with a personal best eight-under par 63 to claim medalist honors. Cole Cornett placed fifth with a two-under par 69. Alex Creech was next with an 82, followed by Zayden Casolari with a 90 and Hallie Hensley with a 98.
Harlan County returns to action Aug. 15 at Middlesboro.
