After opening the season with two straight losses, the Harlan County Black Bears have evened their record with wins over Letcher Central and Barbourville.
“The team is learning to play new roles, and it’s finally coming together,” Harlan County coach Tommy Key said. “They always work really hard.”
Luther Gross had two goals on Friday in the Bears’ 5-2 win over Letcher Central. Ray Spawn, Bradley Brock and Austin Tye added one goal each. Traviis Burkhart recorded 21 saves.
Splawn had three goals and Gross added one goal and an assist in a 4-0 victory Tuesday at Barbourville. Burkhart recorded three saves.
Harlan County will travel to Knox Central on Tuesday.
