Evarts, James A. Cawood and Rosspoint moved into the semifinals of the fifth- and sixth-grade county tournament with opening-round wins Saturday at James A. Cawood Elementary School.
Evarts held off Cumberland in the best game of the day, winning 18-15.
Bailey Haynes scored 10 to pace the Lady Cats.
Cumberland was led by Torrie Sundy with nine points.
Addy Creech scored 16 points and Cidda Middleton added nine as JACES downed Wallins 39-16.
Bella Saylor paced Wallins with six points.
Rosspoint rolled past Black Mountain 56-6 in the final game of the day. Jocelynn Miracle scored 14 and Crissalyn Jones added 12 for the Lady Cats.
Top-seeded Cawood will play Evarts and Rosspoint will take on James A. Cawood in the semifinals on Monday at JACES.
