Wallins guard Raegan Landa took control in the third quarter, scoring nine of her team’s 15 points, as the Lady Devils pulled away for a 45-33 win over Black Mountain on Tuesday in the seventh- and eighth-grade county tournament at James A. Cawood.
Landa finished with 25 points and Mahalah Hall added 10 as Wallins advanced to Thursday’s championship game against unbeaten Rosspoint.
Kelsie Middleton scored 17 points and Vanessa Griffith added 16 to lead Black Mountain.
Rsosspoint stayed perfect on the season with a 45-11 win over James A. Cawood. Jaycee Simpson scored 11 points and Kenadee Sturgill added 10 to lead a balanced Lady Cats’ offense.
Nathalie Moore paced the Trojanettes with eight points.
Black Mountain will play James A. Cawood for third place on Thursday at 5:30 at Harlan County High School. Rosspoint will play Wallins at 6:30.
