The middle school basketball season opened Saturday with four scrimmages at Harlan County High School as part of the HCHS Boys Basketball Panorama for seventh- and eighth-grade teams.
Green Hills opened the scrimmage with a 45-19 win over Black Mountain. Jax Shepherd led the Falcons with 15 points.
Kash Gooden paced Black Mountain with 11.
Evarts downed Cumberland 21-14 as Cayson Farley poured in 11 points.
Hunter Fuson led the Redskins with eight points.
Wallins edged Cawood 20-18 with Mason Howard scoring seven for the Devils.
Isaiah Myers led the Comets with nine points.
Rosspoint closed with a 28-19 win over James A. Cawood. Eli Joseph and Bryson Kelly paced the Wildcats with six points each.
Easton Engle led JACES with five points.
The county’s fifth- and sixth-grade teams will play in a panorama on Saturday at HCHS.
