Harlan County swept a freshmen/junior varsity doubleheader Thursday with a pair of 12-point victories over visiting Bell County.
Raegan Landa, an eighth-grade forward, scored 19 points and Taylynn Napier, a seventh-grade guard, added 13 as the Lady Bears improved to 2-1 in freshman action with a 42-30 victory.
Harlan County raced to a 13-6 lead after one quarter before Bell battled back to pull even at 19. Napier hit a pair of 3-pointers in a 9-2 run that put the Lady Bears back in control.
Bristol Jordan, an eighth-grader, led the Lady Cats with 11 points.
Harlan County rallied from a four-point deficit after one quarter in junior varsity to outscore Bell 21-8 in the second period on the way to a 52-40 win.
Eighth-grade guard Jaycee Simpson poured in 21 points to lead the 3-1 Lady Bears. Napier scored 14 points.
Sophomores Jaelynn Reeder and Emma Farmer scored 10 and nine points, respectively, to lead the Lady Cats.
