Harlan’s Addison McLain looked for help against Pineville’s press on Saturday. The Lady Lions grabbed an early lead on the way to a 46-10 win.

Fast start sends Lady Lions past Harlan

Pineville raced to a 14-3 lead after one quarter on the way to a 46-10 win at Harlan in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action on Saturday afternoon.
Seventh-grader Malley Smith scored 20 points to lead the 3-0 Lady Lions. Ava Arnett, an eighth-grader, added 12 points.
Abbi Fields led the Lady Dragons with four points.
Harlan won 18-15 in fifth- and sixth-grade action as Gracie Hensley led the Lady Dragons with six points.
The Lady Dragons play at Lynn Camp on Monday. Pineville is at home on Monday against Barbourville.

Lady Dragons coast past Williamsburg

Led by 10 points from Abbi Fields and seven from Addison Jackson, Harlan improved to 2-0 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action with a. 27-7 win Thursday at Williamsburg.
Williamsburg won 27-17 in fifth- and sixth-grade action.
Peyshaunce Wynn led Harlan with six points.
Harlan returns to action Saturday at home at noon against Pineville.

Fields powers Harlan to win in opener
Led by 22 points from eighth-grade center Abbi Fields, Harlan opened its middle school basketball season with a 48-16 win Tuesday at Barbourville.
Ava Nunez added seven rebounds for the Lady Dragons. Addison Jackson contributed six steals.
Harlan returns to action Thursday at Williamsburg and will play host to Pineville on Saturday at noon in a fifth-sixth grade and seventh-eighth grade doubleheader.

Balanced attack carries Lady Lions to victory
Pineville opened its middle school basketball schedule in impressive fashion with a 62-6 rout of visiting Barbourville on Tuesday.
Ava Arnett was one of three Lady Lions in double figures with 16 points. Malley Smith fossed in 14. Rachel Howard added 13. Alyssa Howard contributed eight points and seven rebounds.
