Black Bears split two scrimmages at Lindsey Wilson College

Harlan County guard Trent Cole, pictured in action earlier this week at Leslie County, scored 37 points Thursday in a summer scrimmage win over Metcalfe County at Lindsey Wilson College.

Harlan County split a pair of games Thursday at Lindsey Wilson College, defeating Metcalfe County 76-64 and falling 54-45 to Adair County
Junior guard Trent Cole poured in 37 points and senior guard Reggie Cottrell added 29 for the Bears against Metcalfe County. Brennan Blevins tossed in four. Kaden Jones and Brady Smith scored three each.
Cole scored 18 and Cottrell added 14 to lead HCHS against Adair County.
The Bears are 8-3 heading into their third week of summer basketball.

Eddie Gilbert II was introduced Monday as the new boys basketball coach at Middlesboro High School. A 2009 Middlesboro graduate, Gilbert has been an assistant coach the past 10 seasons.
