Harlan County opened its district schedule Thursday with a 25-12, 25-11, 25-15 win at Middlesboro.
Kylee Hoiska and Kalista Dunn, both seniors, led the Lady Bears with 14 and 13 kills, respectively. Savannah Hill and Madi Nolan added five each. Hill again led in assists with 27, followed by Ashlynn Williamson with four. Williamson led in digs with 14, followed by Dunn with nine and Hoiska with seven. Nolan led in aces with seven, followed by Hoiska with four and Hill with two.

The Lady Bears fell 23-35, 14-25, 22-25 to defending 13th Region champ Whitley County in the season opener Tuesday.
Hill had 18 assists, 11 digs and three service aces. Hoiska had 10 kills, three aces, two blocks and four digs. Dunn added seven kills and seven digs. Williamson contributed six digs and one assist. Karli Shoupe added five digs, one ace and one assist. Abigail Blackburn had three kills. Nolan added two aces, one dig and one kill. Sherman had two digs.
Harlan County (1-1) plays host to Barbourville on Monday and travels to Harlan on Thursday.
