The Harlan Green Dragons opened their cross country season Saturday at Lynn Camp.
The varsity boys placed sixth with 184 points.
Tanner Daniels led the Dragons, winning the race with a time of 16:35.69. Gibson Wilder (45th) and Cooper Thomas (48th) finished with times of 21:48.80 and 22:16.64, respectively. Rounding out the results were Dalton Halcomb (51st, 22:23.46), Xavier Farley (69th, 24:24.99), Garrett Wilder (75th, 25:09.18) and Cruz Galloway (82nd, 25:37.17).
In the girls varsity race, Harper Carmical finished 22nd with a time of 23:44.39.
In the mixed middle school race, Zoe Lawson placed fifth with a time of 13:37.80 to lead the girls. Priscilla Stewart (14:31.35) and Cora Jones (15:43.71) were 14th and 16th, respectively. Josephine Toll was 24th with a time of 16:39.87.
Aiden Burnette (12:04.09) finished ninth in the mixed middle school race to pace the boys. Carter White placed 21st with a time of 13:48.37. Thomas Miller (15:02.27) was 36th. Carson Yount (41st) finished with a time of 15:52.97.
The kindergarten through third-grade girls and boys were third overall.
McKinley Taylor led the girls, winning the race with a time of 8:02.62. Shelby Parsons placed fourth with a time of 8:25.56. Lucy Miller finished ninth with a time of 8:52.83. Rounding out the results were Mallory Sizemore (28th, 9:46.43), Brogan Bennett (30th, 9:47.12), Ellianna Carver (31st, 9:50.19), Ramsi Fields (37th, 10:15.09), Rayleigh Hoskins (38th, 10:15.42), Lily Wheeler (41st, 10:20.18), Oakley Moody (48th, 11:30.50), Leah Burkhart (49th, 11:35.89) and Amelia Hensley (55th, 12:06.97).
To lead the boys, Emmett Alred finished ninth with a time of 7:57.67. Tyler White placed 12th with a time of 8:09.25. Ryder Bailey (19th) finished with a time of 8:41.97. Rounding out the results were Jason Mills (27th, 9:04.42), Jess Bennett (28th, 9:10.07), Mason Howard (38th, 9:43.25), Ashwin Ganti (40th, 9:49.71), Raylan Simpson (58th, 11:30.24), Sherman Ward (59th, 11:33.19) and Gunner Green (67th, 12:06.05).
The fourth-grade through sixth-grade boys placed second overall.
Braxton Sizemore (7:10.12) finished fifth to lead the boys. Ben Toll placed 12th with a time of 8:01.12. Aiden Browning (16th) finished with a time of 8:08.56. Rounding out the results were Colt Sullivan (18th, 8:11.14), Trenton Turner (20th, 8:12.34), Kash Bailey (21st, 8:13.43), Xander Owens (33rd, 8:50.07), Tucker White (42nd, 9:32.46), Kelton Dean (44th, 9:42.25), Liam Cook (54th, 10:44.45) and Weston Simpson (55th, 10:45.35).
Julianne Miller placed third with a time of 7:28.10 to pace the girls. Emily Turner was 38th with a time of 9:38.03. Addison Browning (78th) finished with a time of 13:42.68.
Harlan’s next meet will be Sept. 2 at Harlan County for an all comers meet.
