Lady Bears edge Harlan in five-set district clash
Harlan County’s Lilly Caballero returned the ball in district action last week against Harlan. The Lady Bears won in five sets on Saturday at Harlan.

Four days after a hard-fought four-set win over Harlan, the Harlan County needed five sets to win the rematch by a score of 14-25, 25-20, 25-22, 16-25, 15-11 on Saturday at Harlan.
Lindsay Hall led Harlan County with five service aces, five assists and two digs. Lilly Caballero added six kills, with one block and one service ace. Lindsey Browning contributed six service aces, two digs, three blocks and six kills. Brenna Early added four assists and one service ace. Emily Eldridge had three service aces. Chloe Shelton added one service ace. Kamryn Hoiska had one kill.
Carley Thomas, an eighth-grader, had another big game for Harlan with 25 service aces, 16 digs, six assists and one kill. Bailee Maples had 30 digs, with two service aces, six assists and one kill. Emma Owens added 37 digs, 12 assists and four kills. Taylor Hall contributed 16 assists and 13 digs. Marissa Marlowe had 11 assists, 11 digs and four kills. Annie Hoskins had 10 digs, four assists, two service aces and six kills. Campbell Nunez added two digs. Kendyll Blanton added one dig. Tess Bryson had one assist.
Harlan County (4-8) is scheduled to travel to Bell County on Monday. Harlan (1-7) is scheduled to play at Middlesboro on Saturday.
